Independent Archive

BIO:

Independent Archive Ltd, or IA for short is Singapore's only fully independent resource centre and repository for performance art, experimental projects and other ephemeral works.

Founded in early 2012,  the Independent Archive consists of a reference library and a collection of archival material pertaining to art in Singapore.

The brainchild of the late seminal performance artist Lee Wen, IA is currently in a pseudo dormant "bookshelf state", with RELICS at Garden Beats 2020 being its first public performance in years.

PERFORMANCE: 

RELICS will feature actual artifacts from their collection. Appropriating already-in-use items for the bulk of their performance, and tapping on their human library of performance artists, RELICS is a movement based, sound fuelled story that enunciates hope and emancipation in a struggling reality.
